Where do I park?

We have 4 on-site car spaces, which can fill quickly during busy class times. Additional parking is available on nearby streets.We recommend allowing a few extra minutes before your child's class to find a park and walk to the gym.

Can I watch my child's class?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We have an open viewing area where parents and family members can watch the classes.Our viewing area is open to the gym floor, without glass separating families from the training space, so you can both see and hear what's happening during your child's class.

Question 3

What should my child wear and bring to class?

Accepted Answer

Fitted activewear that allows your child to move comfortably is perfect. Some gymnasts choose to wear a leotard, but this isn't required for our KinderGym or Foundations classes.Hair should be tied back and kept out of the face, and gymnasts train in bare feet.Jewellery is not encouraged during gymnastics as it can become a safety hazard. Where possible, we recommend removing jewellery and watches before arriving at the gym.Please also bring a labelled water bottle.

What age can my child start gymnastics?

My child has gymnastics experience. Which class should I enrol them in?

What happens at my child's first gymnastics class?

We recommend arriving around 5 to 10 minutes before your child's first class. This gives our team time to welcome you, show you around the gym, help your child get settled and introduce you to their coach.Your coach will know that it's your child's first class and will be there to provide some extra guidance as they get used to the gym and how their class works.You'll also receive your IWG welcome pack when joining.After the class, we'll check in with you to see how your child went and answer any questions you might have.

My child is nervous about starting gymnastics. What can we do?

Starting somewhere new can take a little time to get used to, and every child responds differently.If you think your child may be nervous about their first class, we encourage you to let us know beforehand. You're welcome to have a quick chat with their coach before class or contact us ahead of time with anything that may help your child settle into their new environment.If your child isn't starting for a little while, you're also welcome to come in during an appropriate class time and watch from our parent viewing area. Becoming familiar with the gym and seeing how a class works before their first session can sometimes help.For classes where parents don't participate, parents and family members need to remain in the viewing area rather than joining their child on the gym floor.Our 14-day cooling-off period also gives new gymnasts some time to settle into their classes before families decide whether gymnastics is the right fit.Contact Us
